I tried tot ake apicture of this guy and he was like yeah right and he whipped out his cam. and got me as I got him. I was sitting at the control table doing sound for a party at the PUCK building.

HTis is Al. He's the Technical Director For the MOCCA(I think it's Museum of Comic Books and Comic Art). We also work together at the day joby. Boy were we drinkin'.

Here's one of the performers and his movie in the background. All the acts were also comic artist and the like. The party was baicaly for venders and such.

I ordered HBO today. Now I can watch fancy TV . and, AND IT's Pay Day Again so that's good, AND AND I don't have to work after work. It's a good day. for me anyway, I guess. "Why do you come here, when you know it makes things hard for me , when you know, Oh why do you come" I want to cover that song.

I worked a Prom last night. Weird, but painless - for me anyway. Lots of kids coming up to us and making requests. Off course we were not the DJ's but the closest thing so... I got to get an idea of what the kids are into these days at least the nerdy preppie rich Westchester kids that went to there Prom. Let's see : Brittany Spears, The Grease soundtrack, sixties music - any, that snap ATL song (which I liked, I wish I knew who it was ) sssnap Lean Back, Lean Back. . .

Nice to see a fellow traveler in the yard. This was one of the many amazing Birthday presents handed out by Jessica - a couple years ago. Hand painted.
That's an orange tree. I think you could reach out the window while in the shower and grab one.

Oh God...I worked 18 HR days - 6:30 to 12:30, the last three days before our exciting trip to SD . So yeah packing was a bit of a last minute thing.
I Figured out that you can order a car off the Internet from the place that has the 777 777 7777 phone number. So nice, who wants to try and flag down a cab at 4 in the morning while lugging bags.
Sooo happy to find out the flight out was very, not crowded, and we got a row to our selves.

especially since I was so fried from working I decided to forgo the sleep and stay up drinking wine and packing my meager bags.

Yes, I was a wee bit haggard by the time we where on our way and over the Midwest somewhere.
I must point out the lack of TV in the seat back in front of me. Maybe there's a button somewhere and it will pop put all James Bondish.
Nope.... No such luck. This flight was fifty bucks cheaper than jet blue and kind of at a better time. But with no personal TV and no blue chips or snacks (snacks are 4 dollars, a sandwich is 5 times are tuff I guess) was it worth it ?
I don't know at least we got a row to ourselves. Somehow I managed to get a couple of hours of sleep and some quality time getting to know the earth from 30,000 feet.

Ended up getting a bit of a late start out but caught up quick.

Control Room 4A

Control rooms are like little club houses for tech's.I don't usually don't hang out in them to much since I'm stuck at a desk most of the time.

Not bad accommodations in here. That little monitor has cable, and of course there's a couple of DVD players and internet. I did snoop around a little and in one of the rack drawers there was a stash of sodas and snacks
After the meeting started. I went up to the 27th floor to take a look at the pent house next door. I want one of these. I think I need to get on the other side of the control room first.
I mean like doing somethin important where meetings are required and meetings with investors and bankers etc.... or not.

A Day Last Week

Here's a day last week. After Work #1 I walked up to 36th & 6th to do work #2 at Gotham Hall.

Oh here they are. I was told there were protesters outside and I got all excited. This event was for Latin journalist Scholarship foundation. Apparently they are sponsored by a bunch of big multi-national corps. The protesters (which there were only two of by the way) said the journalists, whose educations were sponsored by these giant corporations were not reporting on atrocities committed by the evil ones in small Latin American countries.What's kind of interesting is the Key Note Speaker for this event was Some ACLU Director.Fancy Stairs Vs the stairs I use.With everyone happy downstairs I went on a mission to the mezzanine. Had to run a super long power cable. It's the one on the far left.

They had the "after party" on the mez. These Latin journalist are apparently known for there parties and wild partying ways. They had a pretty cool Latin band made up of mostly old Cubans.
This keyboard player guy was very pushy and completely surprised that the band is not catered to and it is exactly the opposite actually - the band caters to the client.
He didn't like the way things were set- up.
At first I thought he was the band leader and I tried to placate him then I found out the old bass player was the leader so I kind of ignored him a bit and he became really cool.
Four trombones, Bass, keys, Percussion, Guitar, Congos.
I was stuck in this elevator for five minutes. Luckily there was a Mexican girl stuck in there with me and she had crazy lungs and screamed us out.

So yeah, snow finally happened. I think this was looking out the front window.

I did go outside though. It was big fun.
The streets were so quiet. It is seriously a beautiful thing early in the morning before anyone has gotten out and everything is white.
The worst part of the weekend - no internet. Something, somewhere was busted and our whole neighborhood was S.O.L.
I finally get to where my duck boots !

finely went to the Punjabi place on first and first.

Super cheap and actually pretty good too. It was like 2 dollars each.
But I kinda ruined mine by putting way too much of that green hot sauce on it - very spicy.
It's the only restaurants I've been too that sells motor oil and transmission fluid.

Sat. the weather was crazy. It was in the sixties and beautiful. We walked all over and enjoyed the unseasonably warm NYC winter day.
I really don't like being the annoying guy with the camera snapping photo's every two seconds, but it's hard not to indulge.

The air was crisp and the sun was lighting one side of the block and I love it when that happens.
So anyway the buildings in the 'hood looked so awesome. Maybe just cuz I grew up around mostly lame tract homes and strip malls?
I hope this place never ends up like that....

Friday night had dinner at some place on , I think 4th st., and A or something like that.
I wish I remembered the name of the place it was perfect after trying for an hour to figure out where Emme wanted to go and two try's at other places with super long waits. Eating out in the east village on Friday night is not easy unless you are prepared to wait.
We went to a couple of places, got discouraged went back home , almost ordered in and then decided to call this place first and see if there would be a chance. The guy said we have no wait and open tables now.
So we went over and it was true. Kind of a hippy peace loveand tofu type of place but we got a bottle of wine that helped. the food was nourishing and loving uhm like the universe came together and created the perfect temphe ruben.
Sarah and Noel Came over and shared some chocolate until I sprinkled my finger crumbs over it and then no one wanted any more. (still in my fridge)
Emme got tierd early and fell aslpeep while we listened to Death Metal and then called it a night. Noel and Brandon Have fun in SD.
